Avaya Campus Phone System to be Shut Down Permanently on July 1
KU’s old Avaya campus phone system will be permanently turned off on July 1. Over the past several months, KU IT staff have been diligently working to identify and transition all remaining phone lines to Skype for Business phone service.
Over the past three years, we have transitioned thousands of campus phone lines to Skype for Business phone service. A key reason for the Skype for Business initiative was to replace our aging Avaya phone infrastructure and equipment, which is now beyond its expected life.
Over the next few weeks, the Skype for Business project team will continue to transition the remaining phone lines to Skype for Business phone service. Any remaining Avaya phone lines and devices will quit working when the system is turned off on July 1, so it’s imperative that you contact us about any phone lines you believe we may have missed.
